Q:How do I obtain warranty service on my KENWOOD product?

A.
You may take your KENWOOD product to any of our KENWOOD authorized service centers for warranty repair. Be sure to present a copy of your purchase receipt for warranty verification.


Q:My product is no longer under warranty. Can I still get it repaired?

A.
The majority of our products are repairable even after the warranty period. Take or ship the product to any of our KENWOOD authorized service centers. The service center will provide you with a repair estimate prior to beginning the work. There is a nominal diagnostic fee that the service center will charge you for evaluation of your product. Should you decide to have the product repaired, the diagnostic fee that you will pay will be credited toward the total cost of the repair.


Q:I do not live in the United States. Where do I find contact information for a KENWOOD office in my country?

A.
The KENWOOD USA website provides information and support only for our customers in the USA. You may find the closest KENWOOD affiliate to your country by going to the home page at www.kenwood.com.

For Home & Car Audio products click here and follow the directions to register your KENWOOD product. Upon completion of the registration process you will be given the option to purchase an extended warranty for various warranty terms. Be sure to keep a copy of your service contract so that you have contact information should you require assistance with warranty repairs once the product is covered by the extended warranty contract.

For Land Mobile Radio products please contact your KENWOOD Manufacturer's Representative or your local KENWOOD dealer.

For Amateur Radio products please contact your local KENWOOD dealer.


Q:Where can I find Instruction Manuals for my product?

A.
Instruction Manuals can be downloaded from our Instruction Manuals Page. Select the product line for which you need a manual then select the model number from the drop down list.


Q:CD-Text doesn't scroll over display

A.
For safety reasons you must activate the SCROLL function in the menu, so that the CD-text information scrolls over your display.


Q:The radio-text doesn't scroll over display.

A.
For safety reasons you must activate the SCROLL function in the menu, so that the Radio-text information scrolls over your display.


Q:Can you re-activate the DEMO-mode of the MASK radio (from 1999 models on).

A.
With the new MASK devices, the demo mode is switched off after activating the coding system. It cannot be re-activated for safety reasons.
From 2001 onwards models the demo-mode can be reselected by setting the display mode in the menu.


Q:My CD changer has CD Text but when I load a disc, the display shows 'NO TEXT'. How do I get the text information to display?

A.
You might be playing a CD that does not have CD Text encoding. CD Text is digitally encoded text information on the disc. This technology is only found on more recently manufactured CDs.


Q:I have a CD Changer hooked up to my receiver, and every time I press the source (SRC) button, the changer does not show up.

A.
If you have a changer that can read CD Text, the 'N - O' switch needs to be switched to the "O" position. Make sure the changer cable is securely hooked up and not damaged.


Q:How do I turn off the disabled system indicator (DSI) on my unit.

A.
• Completely turn off power to the unit. (Be sure Backlight is OFF).
• Press and hold memory presets #1 and #3.
• Turn the power on to the unit.
• Let go of memory preset #1 and #3 after the units power on.
• Completely turn off power to the unit. (Be sure Backlight is OFF).
• Press and hold memory presets #1 and #3.
• Turn the power on to the unit.
• Let go of memory preset #1 and #3 after the units power on.

Q:Where do I find a KENWOOD Authorized Service Center?

A.
To locate the nearest service center in your area, click here. Be sure to select the local service center option for your product type and use your zip code. Using the national service center option will give you the list of our national KENWOOD Service Centers, which may not be local to you. Though we try to locate service facilities in local areas for our customers, at times a consumer may be required to ship the product to the facility or to one of our national KENWOOD Service Centers for repair.

If you choose to ship the product, be sure to include your contact information, a copy of the purchase receipt and a description of the problem. Ship the product securely packed and UPS insured. We do not repair products at our corporate offices in Long Beach, California. Do not ship any products to that address unless you were previously directed to do so by our customer service staff.


Q:How do I register my KENWOOD product?

A.
To register your KENWOOD product click here and follow the directions to register your KENWOOD product. Keep in mind that registering your product does not guarantee warranty coverage of your KENWOOD product, and you must still keep your original purchase receipt showing you have purchased the product from a KENWOOD authorized dealer. Please refer to your warranty certificate for additional information.


Q:How do I reset my security code?

A.
If you do not know the security code for your unit, you will need to take the unit to a KENWOOD authorized service center to have it decoded. The code feature can only be activated when the code has been entered twice, so it isn't accidentally activated. The service center will often require you to provide a proof of purchase as this feature is designed for theft prevention and the proof of purchase will ensure you are the rightful owner of the product.

Once you have had your code reset, please make a note of the code and keep it in a safe place away from your vehicle.
