Mississauga, ON – April 24th, 2017 – JVCKENWOOD Canada Inc. understands the enormous value volunteer organizations provide to their community, and, as a manufacturer, realize the need to recognize these organizations, their needs, and award their ongoing community efforts.
JVCKENWOOD Canada Inc. initially introduced the Kenwood Cares program in October 2014, a communication system support grant valued at $10,000. Over the course of three annual grants, countless submissions have been received.
Submissions were weighed on: overall organizational need for communications equipment, established track record of service or potential for success within the community and overall benefit to the community via public safety, education and community service. While many organizations were deemed deserving, we are proud to award this grant to the Eagle Valley Rescue Society, based in Sicamous, BC.
Patrick Gau, President of Eagle Valley Rescue Society states, "The Eagle Valley Rescue Society is grateful for the opportunity to receive this grant for 2017. It is groups like JVCKENWOOD that help us so much in saving lives on our highways.
As much of our resources revolve around communication and the speed and clarity we receive information, it is paramount that our technology is kept up to date. However, being a volunteer organization, we sometimes find it challenging to keep current with our equipment.
This new Kenwood equipment will allow digital communications with dispatch resulting in less time on the phone and more time responding to missions."

Those who travel through Sicamous on either the Trans-Canada Highway or Highway 97A can be confident that should an incident occur, there is a well-trained and capable organization properly equipped and ready to assist at a moment's notice.
