KENWOOD Earns Top European Prizes in Two EISA Categories

IN-CAR NAVI-MEDIA SYSTEM 2009-2010: DNX9240BT
IN-CAR AMPLIFIER 2009-2010: KAC-X4D

KENWOOD Corporation today announced that two of its products have taken the top prize in the corresponding categories of the 2009-2010 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awards — Europe’s most prestigious prizes for new products in the electronics industry. KENWOOD products previously won EISA awards five years ago in 2004-2005.

The Winners

EUROPEAN IN-CAR NAVI-MEDIA SYSTEM 2009-2010
KENWOOD DNX9240BT 7.0” Wide VGA GPS Navigation System

As a complete audio-visual GPS navigation system with a built-in 7” monitor, the DNX9240BT employs the newest navigation engine from Garmin Ltd. of the United States — the world’s leading producer of portable navigation systems. Achieving remarkable improvements in both function and performance, the system features a high-resolution VGA monitor and a new GUI designed to maximize its advanced capabilities in order to realize ease-of-use while also entertaining in style, and as such, it is perfectly suited to a diverse range of applications. What’s more, the DNX9240BT also boasts 5.1-channel DSP and other audio performance befitting top-of-the-line models as it seamlessly integrates navigation, video, and audio functions.

KENWOOD’s fully equipped all-in-one-unit offers the latest technology in terms of A/V capability, connectivity and navigation. Needless to say, it provides the full set of media functionality, and its excellent WVGA wide screen makes it a top end video component. It comes with the newest Garmin navigation software, including TMC and TMC Pro and covering most of Europe. The map display is visually attractive, full of detail but still clear and easy to read on the move, while text-to-speech guidance including street names makes driving easy and safe. The state-of-the-art Parrot Bluetooth module is capable of audio streaming from A2DP compatible devices. It can register up to five phones and even handles SMS. Of course, the DNX9240BT works perfectly with iPod and iPhone and has not one but two USB ports to accept storage devices. Finally, it offers a clever user interface and can optionally be operated with the steering wheel controls.

EUROPEAN IN-CAR AMPLIFIER 2009-2010
KENWOOD KAC-X4D Four Channel Digital Power Amplifier

Even with its powerful array of advanced audio technologies, the KAC-X4D is 49% smaller than conventional in-car power amps, measuring a mere 235 x 192 x 52 mm. Not surprisingly, therefore, this 120W, four-channel, Class-D power amplifier for in-car applications is the most compact in its class.

By introducing the KAC-X4D, KENWOOD has given us a unit that embodies all aspects of a modern in-car amplifier. As a full range Class D amplifier, the KAC-X4D is extraordinarily efficient. And so, in spite of its tiny footprint it offers lots of power, excellent sound quality and immaculate measurements. This has been achieved by the highest quality engineering of the 21st century. A first class amplifier of modern design and impressive performance, the KAC-X4D is easy to install and use. Based on a concept that leaves no wishes unfulfilled this unit truly makes a step into the future.

The EISA Awards

The EISA awards presented by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) recognize those new products that combine the most advanced technologies, the most desirable features, the ultimate expression of design, the most satisfying ergonomics, and of course, the best value for money. The association’s “European Awards” are both prestigious and authoritative — a mark of excellence for consumers and industry people in Europe and much of the rest of the world.

Formed in 1982, EISA is an organization for the editors of leading European magazines in the fields of Audio & Home Theatre, In-Car Electronics, Photo, Video, and Mobile Devices. It currently has a membership of 50 magazines from 19 different European countries. Each year, the organization selects the best Audio & Home Theatre, In-Car Electronics, Photo, Video, and Mobile Devices for special recognition.
