KENWOOD will exhibit its concept model in WCES2007.
Anticipating diffusion of digital media and increased demand for high-end pure audio,
KENWOOD proposes “Seamless Entertainment World” in both in-vehicle and home audio systems
KENWOOD Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Company; President and CEO: Haruo Kawahara; Head office: Hachioji, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that under the theme “Live Connected. Drive Connected.” it will place its booth in WCES2007 (Winter Consumer Electronics Show 2007) to be held in Las Vegas between January 8 and 11.
   WCES is the world’s largest electronics show attracting about 150,000 visitors each year and the Company aims to make as many people as possible personally feel the sensation of “Seamless Entertainment World” that it upholds.
1. The Company's Initiatives and Its Exhibition Concept for WCES2007 "Live Connected. Drive Connected." Proposal for a Seamless Entertainment World in Sound.
Since its inception in 1946, the Company has always pursued high-quality sound by adopting the concept of “reproduction of original sound.”  In recent years and anticipating dissipation of new media, the Company has made efforts to develop products/technologies aimed to concretize “Seamless Entertainment World” through integration of both home and car electronics that it proposed for the first time at IFA (an international consumer electronics exhibition in Berlin) in 2003 and to upgrade and expand the lineup of high-quality sound models befitting the coming digital media age.
  At WCES2007, the Company will put on display various models with the concept of “digital connectivity” and will reveal even more clearly its initiatives to concretize “Seamless Entertainment World” and upgrade and expand the line-up of high-quality sound models.
2. Main Features of the Company's Exhibits at WCES2007
(1) Car Electronics
USB-Connectible Head Unit
  Last year, the Company launched USB-connectible car audio products both in Japan and abroad, and has been enjoying high market recognition.  The products that the Company is putting on display this time are the systems which when connected to a digital audio player including iPod® and USB memory not only enable a faster search for music but also offer further expanded and developed control features.
   
New Category “KENWOOD CarPortal”
  The Company will put on display an operating model of “KENWOOD CarPortal,” a new system which while making use of line products is capable of adding a car navigation and entertainment features including digital audio player such as iPod® and digital radio tuner.  The Company released concept of this “KENWOOD CarPortal” for the first time in WCES2006, and in WCES2007, we will put on display its product sample.
   
New-Concept Car Navigation System
  Last year, mainly in the Americas and Europe, the Company launched a new-concept car navigation system whereby an existing KENWOOD’s car DVD/TV receiver can be used as a car navigation system by connecting it and is pleased to report that its sales remain favorable.  At WCES2007, the Company will add a new head unit as part of the system package and will also newly put on display an all-in-one type car navigation system.
(2) Home Electronics
High-Quality Sound Models
  Visitors will be able to experience high-quality sound that only the Company as specialized manufacturer of audio systems can offer; the Company will put on display its unique pure audio systems with high-quality sound reproduction features including “TRIO,” the 60th anniversary commemoration prestige model that it launched in Japan in December of last year and “Kseries Esule,” which has succeeded TRIO’s conceptual base.
   
Seamless Entertainment System
  Both in Japan and abroad, the Company sells system compos with which users can readily enjoy “Seamless Entertainment World” by connecting them digitally to digital audio players and USB-based equipment.
  At WCES2007, the Company will put on display a wireless speaker system and products which will bring you further along “Seamless Entertainment World” by USB equipped audio system allowing you to enjoy music stored on not only digital audio players but also PCs in high-quality sound by means of digital connection.  In addition, the Company will put on display network systems which enable wireless connection between digital audio players and system components.
