| Shanghai and Malaysia factories receive ISO/TS16949: 2002 certification for automotive quality management system |

| KENWOOD Corporation (President and CEO: Haruo Kawahara; Head Office: Hachioji, Tokyo) announces that wholly owned production subsidiaries Shanghai KENWOOD Electronics Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshiro Kasuga; Location: Shanghai, China) and KENWOOD Electronics Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd. (President: Junji Kobayashi; Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia) have obtained ISO/TS16949: 2002 certification from the International Organization for Standardization for quality management system in the automotive sector. |

| ISO/TS16949 is an international standard for quality management system in the automotive industry, and is based on ISO9001 and QS-9000 for 2000. It was established to improve quality and customer satisfaction through the formulation of quality management systems and continuous system improvement by using a "process approach," and requires very strict standards and commensurate performance. KENWOOD acknowledges the importance of obtaining this certification for enhancing its competitiveness, which it believes will help promote business with automakers across the globe in the years to come. The certification acquired by Shanghai and Malaysia factories, combined with the certification obtained by KENWOOD Nagano Corporation on March 4, 2005, is expected to greatly contribute to developing our Car Electronics business. |
