KENWOOD Corporation and KENWOOD Nagano Corporation (factory) receive ISO/TS16949 certification for automotive quality management system
—Stepping up efforts to "improve quality and customer satisfaction" and "reinforce corporate structure"—


KENWOOD Corporation (President & CEO: Haruo Kawahara; Head Office: Hachioji, Tokyo) and KENWOOD Nagano Corporation (President: Yasuhiko Takami; Location: Ina, Nagano) have obtained ISO/TS16949 certification from the International Organization for Standardization for quality management systems in the automotive sector.

2.  Obtained standards on automotive quality management systems required by world's major automakers
—Aim to "improve quality and customer satisfaction" and "reinforce corporate structure"—

ISO/TS16949 is an international standard for quality management systems in the automobile industry, and is based on ISO9001 and QS-9000 for 2000 (obtained on November 19, 1999). It was established to improve quality and customer satisfaction through the formulation of quality management systems and continuous system improvement by using a "process approach," and requires very strict standards and commensurate performance. KENWOOD acknowledges the importance of obtaining certification for its business with automakers across the globe in the years to come. KENWOOD has obtained this certification by striving hard to operate the PDCA cycle conforming to TS16949 by upgrading the systems which had been developed according to ISO9001 and QS9000.
