Support of Areas Devastated during the Earthquake off the Sumatra Coast and the Indian Ocean Tsunami Disaster

In view of the large-scale devastation caused by the earthquake off the Sumatra coast and the Indian Ocean Tsunami disaster in December 2004, the KENWOOD group has pledged to provide assistance to support the victims and assist in the reconstruction of the devastated areas as follows:

(1)  Donation of communications equipment to the Indonesian and Thai government agencies (valued at 3.49 million yen)
(2)  Fundraising within the company in cooperation with the KENWOOD Group Union (1.16 million yen) to be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society
(3)  Contribution from KENWOOD Group Union (1 million yen) to be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society


Currently the total donations are (equivalent to) 5.65 million yen which includes fundraising efforts by the employees and contributions from the KENWOOD Group Union.
The KENWOOD Group sincerely prays for a speedy recovery to those in the devastated areas.
