KENWOOD concludes contract with VISTEON of Brazil for production and marketing of car audio products


KENWOOD Corporation (President: Makoto Oka; Head Office: Tokyo, Shibuya) has concluded a contract with Brazil-based VISTEON Automotive Systems South America (hereafter referred to as VISTEON) under which VISTEON will manufacture and market KENWOOD car audio products.


Background

This contract covers the manufacture and marketing of car audio products for the Brazilian domestic market. These products are intended for installation in cars after leaving the factory. KENWOOD will provide technical cooperation and guidance for production processes, while VISTEON will undertake the actual manufacturing of the car audio products, using its existing marketing network to further expand sales within the Brazilian market.

For the first year covered by the contract, VISTEON will manufacture and market CD/receivers, cassette/receivers, amplifiers, and speakers, totaling 100,000 sets.

The official announcement of the products covered by this contract was made at the 1999 AUTOMEC Show (23~27 March), with phased production scheduled to commence from mid-April.


VISTEON Automotive Systems South America

VISTEON Automotive Systems South America is a Brazilian industrial group that manufactures car parts (electrical components, exterior/interior finishings, and meters) for both domestic and export markets. Its operates plants at Guarulhos and Manaus in Brazil, and has a workforce of approximately 3,300.
