transceiver. By utilizing this software, you can enjoy the versatility of the TM-271 Series transceiver through the memory channel management and edit functions.
You can use this software to create data such as memory channels and menus on a PC by connecting the TM-271/ 471
transceiver to the PC.
Any user who does not agree with the content of this Readme file is requested to uninstall this software by following the "Uninstalling the MCP-1A" instructions.

This software runs on Windows(R) 98, Windows(R) Me, Windows(R) 2000 (SP3 or later) or Windows(R) XP (SP1 or later) operating system. |

To install this software, 2 MB or more of hard disk space is required. |

Prepare an optional Programming Cable to connect the TM-271/ 471 to a PC, for data communications. Ask you dealer about purchasing a Programming Cable. |

Set Menu 31 of the transceiver to "PC ON" before connecting the TM-271/ 471
to a PC. |

Turn the TM-271/ 471
OFF before connecting it to a PC. |

Users are required to obtain a license from KENWOOD, in writing, prior to redistributing this software on a personal web page or packet radio. |

Installing the MCP-1A
Run Setup.exe and follow the instructions that appear on the display.

The MCP-1A does not operate properly when selecting other models; you must select the correct model. |

If you select a different model by mistake, re-install the MCP-1A. |

You must be an authorized Administrator to install the MCP-1A to Windows(R) 2000 (SP3 and later versions) or Windows(R) XP (SP1 and later versions). |
Uninstalling the MCP-1A
Open the Control Panel and select Add/ Remove Programs, then follow the instructions, which appear, on the display.

Created files using the MCP-1A are not deleted by uninstalling the software; you must manually delete any files that you created. |
