[About this software]
This software installs the device driver for the KPG-53U to a PC.
Prior to installing the driver, carefully read through the following installation procedure.


[Attention]
Do not connect the KCT-53U to a PC before installing the driver.


[Operating System (OS)]
Windows XP (32/64-bit)
Windows Vista (32/64-bit)
Windows 7 (32/64-bit)
Note:This software is designed to run on the above operating systems only.


[Installing the driver]
Execute the "KCT-53U_V150.exe" in the folder labeled "KCT-53U_V150", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to install the driver.
Note:Administrator privileges are required when installing the driver.


[Connecting the KPG-53U to a PC]
Connect the KCT-53U to the PC's USB port.Then the PC will detect new hardware.


[Confirming the COM port number]
Open the "Device Manager" to confirm which COM port number is assigned for the KCT-53U.(Confirm the COM port number while connecting the KCT-53U to the PC.)

*For Windows XP
1. Right-click [My Computer], then click [Manage].
2. Click [Device Manager], in the left side of the [Computer Management] window.
3. [Device Manager] will be displayed in the right side of the window.

*For Windows Vista
1. Click the Windows [Start] button.
2. Click [Control Panel].
3. Click [Hardware and Sound], in the [Control Panel] window.
4. Click [Device Manager], in the [Hardware and Sound] window.
(In the User Account Control dialog box, a security message will appear. Click [Continue].)
5. [Device Manager] window will appear.

*For Windows 7
1. Click the Windows [Start] button.
2. Right-click [Computer], then click [Properties].
3. Click [Device Manager] in the displayed window.
(If you don't log on to your PC as an "Administrator", a security message will appear. Click [OK].)
4. [Device Manager] window will appear.

Click gPorts (COM & LPT)h to extend it, then you can find gATEN USB to Serial Bridge (COMxx)h.ThegCOMxxhis the port number assigned to the KCT-53U.
Select this port number in the configurations for communication in the software you are using.


[Uninstalling the driver]
Select "UC232A_Winxx_xxbit" in "Programs and Features" ("Add or Remove Programs" for Windows XP) in the Control Panel and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the driver. Or execute the "KCT-53U_V150.exe" and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the driver.
Note:Administrator privileges are required when uninstalling the driver.
