About this software
This software is an application solely for the use of controlling the TS-480.
This software can be used on a PC for controlling the TS-480.
This software can be used to edit, save, and export to the TS-480 information such as Memory, Menu, and Auto Mode frequencies.
This software can be used with the KENWOOD NETWORK COMMAND SYSTEM for remote operation of the TS-480.
 
Operating Environment
1. Operating Systems (OS)
Windows® XP (Service Pack 3 or later) (32-bit)
Windows Vista® (Service Pack 2 or later) (32-bit or 64-bit)
Windows® 7 (RTM or later) (32-bit or 64-bit)
  Note:
This software is designed to run on the above operating systems.
Applicable operating systems are subject to change without notice due to the end of the technical support by Microsoft Corporation or change of the product specifications.
2. Processor
The recommended CPU or better for each OS.
3. System Memory (RAM)
At least the recommended system memory for each OS.
4. Free Hard Drive Space
8MB or more of free hard drive space.
5. Peripheral Devices
A display with at least 800 x 600 resolution.
A keyboard and a mouse, or other pointing device.
RS-232C interface.
An RS-232C straight cable with a 9-pin D-SUB female connector for the transceiver's COM port.
(When the PC has no RS-232C port, then use a USB-to-serial adapter.)
 
Usage Notes
If you are remotely controlling the Transceiver using this software via a network such as the Internet, you must conform to the radio laws and relevant domestic laws of the country and/or area where the Transceiver and relevant equipment are installed.
If any problem occurs while you are remotely controlling the Transceiver and relevant equipment, the responsibility of finding a solution to the problem is left solely to the user who remotely control the Transceiver and relevant equipment.
Users are required to obtain an approval from JVC KENWOOD Corporation, in writing, prior to redistributing this software on a personal web page or packet radio.
Users are prohibited to assign, rent, lease, or resell the software.
Users are prohibited to revise, change, translate, merge, de-compile, or reverse engineer the software.
JVC KENWOOD Corporation does not warrant that quality and functions of this software comply with each user's purpose of use of this software, and unless specifically described in this document, JVC KENWOOD Corporation shall be free from any responsibilities to any defects and indemnities to any damages or losses. Selection and installation of this software shall be made by the User's designation. The User shall take full responsibilities for the use and effects of this Software.
JVC KENWOOD Corporation shall be free from any responsibilities for any incidental losses or damages, such as missing communications or a calling opportunity caused by a failure or performance error of this Software.
JVC KENWOOD Corporation shall own all copyrights and other intellectual properties for the software and all manuals and documents attached to the software. The user shall be allowed to use, not to resell, the software by obtaining a license from JVC KENWOOD Corporation. While the media in which the software is stored is possessed by the user, the ownership for the software itself shall be reserved for JVC KENWOOD Corporation.
 
Installing the ARCP-480
1. Extract the downloaded file "ARCP480_110.zip" into a designated folder.
In the designated folder, a folder labeled "ARCP480_110" will be created.
Execute the "Setup.exe" in the folder labeled "ARCP480_110", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to install ARCP-480.
Note:
Administrator privileges are required when installing the software.
2. When the window to select the help language is displayed, select the desired help language (English or Japanese).
Note:
To change the help language after you have installed the application, reinstall the application from the beginning.
 
Uninstalling the ARCP-480
1. Select "ARCP-480" in "Uninstall a program" ("Add or Remove Programs" for Windows® XP in the Control Panel and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the software. Or double-click "Setup.exe", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the software.
Note:
Administrative privileges are required to uninstall the software.
Always exit ARCP-590 before uninstalling the software.
