About this software
The downloaded program is available for owners of the TM-V71A/E, TM-D710A/E.
(Even if the program is downloaded, it cannot be used by owners of the Japanese models TM-V71/S, TM-D710/S)
An optional Programming Cable (PG-5G, or PG-5H Serial communications cable) is necessary.
 
Operating Environments
1. Operating Systems
  This software runs on Windows® 2000 (SP4 or later), Windows® XP (SP2 or later), or Windows Vista™ operating system.(This software might not run on Windows Vista™ 64-bit Editions)
  Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher must be installed.
  And furthermore, the .NET Framework 2.0 (or later) which is available for download from Microsoft download center must also be installed. (Windows Vista™ users do not need to install the .NET Framework.)
How to check the .NET Framework 2.0 (or later) installed or not in your Windows® 2000 / XP : Open the Control Panel and select Add/ Remove Programs, then scroll through the list of applications. If you find the name of the "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0" (or later), you do not need to install it again.
2. Processor
  At least the recommended CPU for each OS is required to run this program.(Pentium® II 450 MHz or higher CPU or compatible CPU is recommended)
3. System Memory (RAM)
  At least the recommended system memory for each OS is required to run this program.
4. Hard Disk Free Space
  To install this software, 3 MB or more of hard disk space is required.
5. Peripheral Devices
 
A display with at least VGA (640 x 480).
A keyboard and pointing device (such as a mouse) are required.
An RS-232C port is required.(Corresponding to COM1 to COM20)
 
Attention
Before starting to edit the data in the MCP-2A, you must first read data from the transceiver. (The MCP-2A must recognise the exact model type of the transceiver.) Writing data to the transceiver without reading the transceiver's exact model type, may result an error.
If you do not want to lose user data, save the data using the Memory Control Program MCP-2A before updating the firmware and write the data back after updating the firmware.
 
Notes on usage
Users are required to obtain a license from KENWOOD, in writing, prior to redistributing this software on a personal web page or packet radio.
Users may not revise, change, translate, merge, de-compile, or reverse engineer the software.
The quality and performance of the software is not warranted for the applicability of any users. KENWOOD shall not assume liability for any defects, nor warrant anything other than is expressly provided in the agreement. The selection and introduction of the products as well as the results there from shall be upon the liability of the users.
KENWOOD shall own all copyrights and other intellectual properties for the software and all manuals and documents attached to the software. The user shall be allowed to use, not to resell, the software by obtaining a license from KENWOOD. While the media in which the software is stored is possessed by the user, the ownership for the software itself shall be reserved for KENWOOD.
 
Installation :
1. Execute the downloaded self-extracting file "TM-V71_TM-D710_Main_200E.exe" and the file is extracted into a designated folder.
2. In the folder labeled "TM-V71_TM-D710_Main", the firmware updating program "TM-V71_TM-D710_Main_V200_e.exe" and "TM-V71_TM-D710_Main_e.chm" are automatically created.
 
Uninstalling :
Delete the folder labeled "TM-V71_TM-D710_Main" manually using the Explorer or an alternative method.
